Older individuals respond to full spectrum light the same way people of all ages do: they are more alert, less stressed and see better. Because their bodies function more efficiently under full spectrum light, “Sundowners Syndrome,” a condition characterized by a lack of focus, concentration and alertness that may occur when the sun goes down, is eliminated. The elderly are more awake during the day and sleep better at night.

Full spectrum light, like natural sunshine, activates both rod and cone cells in our eyes. We may have up to 80% more visual acuity than with standard indoor light. When we see better, we maintain our independence longer.

Full spectrum light improves our quality of life. Interests such as reading the newspaper or putting together a jigsaw puzzle can be possible again under full spectrum light. Everyday tasks, such as cooking, cleaning, reading a prescription medication label, become easier.

Full spectrum light pulls cholesterol from the blood, makes vitamin D3 in the skin, which strengthens teeth and bones. They may be able to work with their doctors and reduce prescription medication.

Full spectrum light makes a positive difference in our lives every day.
